Route Description
Bainbridge for The Beamish
Leave Seaton Burn, head south on A1.
Turn right onto A69
Turn left (south) at A69/A68 roundabout. Stay on A68.
Turn right into 68 Café at Toft Hill for coffee. (45 miles.)
Leave café & turn right on A68 through Toft Hill to West Auckland.
Bear left at first mini-roundabout then turn right after 200m.
Turn right at next mini-roundabout staying on A68.
At Royal Oak junction turn right onto B6275 (signposted to Piercebridge).
A67 junction turn right then left and left again through Piercebridge heading south.
At Lucy Cross Guest House, turn right (signposted to Aldbrough & Richmond).
Through Aldbrough, St. John’s Chapel and Melsonby to A66.
Cross over A66 onto west bound lane and take immediate left to Richmond. CAUTION!! Busy road.
Stay on B6274 to Richmond.
Turn right at 1st roundabout onto A6108. Straight over 1st roundabout then right at the 2nd.
Left into Rosemary Lane (one-way street).
Left down Cravengate.
Over the bridge up Slee Gill along the tank road to rejoin the A6108.
Straight on to Redmire (A6108 turns left at T-junction).
Straight on through Carperby and Askrigg. Turn left to Bainbridge for lunch. (Packed lunch required, toilets available.) (85 miles.)
Head west on A684 through Hawes.
Bear right after Hawes staying on A684
Turn right at The Moorcock Inn onto B6259 (sinposted to Kirkby Stephen).
Through Nateby into Kirkby Stephen and turn right at the traffic lights to the Ford Garage (petrol). (105 miles)
Go north on A685 towards Brough.
Turn left just before A66 into Brough Castle ice cream parlour. (109 miles.)
Return to A685 into Brough.
Turn right in village then bear left staying on B6276.
Stay on B6276 until it joins B6277 to Middleton-in-Teesdale.
Turn left at Middleton-in-Teesdale T-junction then bear right (signposted to Stanhope).
Just past de-restriction signs turn right (signposted to Stanhope).
Turn left onto B6278 to Stanhope.
Turn right at Stanhope T-junction then left to go up Crawleyside Bank.
Stay on B6278 through Edmundbyers to A68 Carterway Heads.
Turn left on A68 to A68/A69 roundabout to finish the ride at Brockbushes Farm Shop, Corbridge. (155 miles.)
