Route Description

From Seaton Burn service station head north on the old A1.

Turn left at Blagdon to Ponteland. At Ponteland turn left at mini roundabout. Cross bridge and turn immediately right at traffic lights onto B6323.

Turn left at mini roundabout just past school and straight on to next roundabout. Continue on and turn right at T-junction next to white cottage.

Continue west for approximately 3 miles. Turn left at T-junction opposite cottage. At crossroads join B6318 to Chollerford.

Continue on military road to Greenhead. Right B6318 to Gilsland.

Coffee at Slackhouse Organic Farm (47 miles.)

Depart via B6318 to Langholm. Take care: greasy leaves on road and narrow bridges.

Turn right at lights onto A7 into Langholm. (77 miles.)

Left onto A709 signposted Eskdalemuir. Take care: poor road surface with sheep and cattle grids.

Left at Gordon Arms Hotel onto A708 to St. Mary’s Loch Glen CafĂ© for lunch. (120 miles.)

Depart back to Gordon Arms Hotel. Turn Right onto A709. Left at Tushelaw Inn A711. Take care: narrow road with sheep and cattle grids.

Left onto A7 Buccleugh Road into Hawick. At the Newbridge roundabout take third exit onto A698. Next roundabout take second exit A698 to Jedburgh. Stop at Bournetree Services (150 miles.)

Left out of services to rejoin A698. Then next right onto A6088 through Bonchester Bridge. Right onto A68. Coffee stop at Byrness (170 miles.)

Continue to Stagshaw Roundabout and Errington Coffee House. (199 miles.)
